5 Simple Stress Relief Techniques for a Happier Life


I left my corporate job almost 2 years ago to travel and to set up my own business as a life and marketing coach. I always thought that being stressful comes from the enormous pressure generated by the corporate world, hitting sales targets, decreasing costs, managing people, measuring up to your boss’s expectations. But becoming an entrepreneur now I have to realize stress is with me here as well. Will I make enough money? Will my clients really like my new workshop? Am I doing the taxes right? You can always come up with fears and thoughts that will make you feel stressed. Even simple things can make your day go wrong, unless you learn to relax and let go of some of your thoughts.

I have been gathering and searching the simplest stress relief techniques that I can incorporate in my life to feel happier and more relaxed. They are so simple that I was quiet skeptic to test some of them, but they do work.

Test these simple stress relief techniques and incorporate them in your life:

1) Meditate each morning!

The most successful entrepreneurs of the world start their day with meditation. They connect with themselves and their goals. They pay attention to what their inner calling is. Start by taking 10-15 minutes each morning to sit with your spines straight and breathe deeply. Just follow each breath and let the thoughts pass by you. Each time a thought comes up and distracts you, just go back to your breathing. At the end of your meditation imagine white light shining on you and fill yourself with the energy of the Universe. Thank yourself for dedicating 15 minutes to meditate.

2) Dream, dream, dream!

As part of your meditation or during the day, visualize your dreams. Ask yourself the following questions:

  • What is it that your really desire?
  • What would your life look like if there were absolutely no limitations?
  • Which dream becoming a reality would change your entire life in the most positive way?

Take time to answer them and write them down. Spend some time each day to put yourself in the creative, positive energies of your dreams. They will help you take focus away from stress.

3) Connect with nature!


Take a walk in nature at least 3-4 times a week. Just leave your emails for 20 minutes and stroll around in the closest park. Fresh air, the trees will fill you up with new energies. I know you think you have so much to do, you don’t have time for this, but trust me you will get back so much more, as you will be more excited to work.

4) Have lunch with a friend

Do you regularly eat in front of your computer or read emails or use Facebook meanwhile? I remember I used to have my lunch at my desk and I felt so tired all the time. If I used my lunch break to refill myself with a nice chat with friend or a colleague, I would’ve been more happy for sure.

Which people in your life make you laugh or inspired? Make sure you meet at least one of them for lunch each week.

5) Do one thing at a time!

This sounds so obvious, but we always do several things at the same time. If we work on something from our to do list, we are already thinking about the next one and then we become overwhelmed with all the tasks we have to do.

Make sure you prioritize right! What is your main goal? Set the tasks according to that. Which is the first one that brings me the closest to my main goal? And then the next one? And so on.

Focus only on one task and only when you’re finished, move on to the next one.

You don’t have time to waste, life is beautiful, start to live the way you really want today!
