“Whether you think you can, or you can’t , you are right!” –Henry Ford
Mindset is everything! I have learnt this very important lesson through my struggles of believing in myself and my dreams and also through the concerns of my clients wanting to quit their job and setting up their own business. If you are able to switch to a positive mindset of opportunites, to “I can” and to believing in anything is possible, you can do whatever you truly desire.
Our mind is full of thinking patterns, beliefs and belief systems. Whatever we think of the world is ruled by these systems. We don’t always see the truth, but what we believe to be true. And what is truth anyway? Is there only one or a million different true ways?
I have spent the last years on changing my mindset to loving and believing in myself and to understand that I can achieve anything my heart truly desires, so now I will share my most important learning with you so you can also adopt it to your own life!
Here’s what you need to do to switch to a positive mindset:
Goodbye Limiting Beliefs!
First we need to get rid of your limiting beliefs that are stopping you from achieving the life you really want to live. Click here to get to know the 3 most common limiting beliefs!
Take a piece of paper and answer the following question: What is my biggest problem in life right now?
Now start to list out what you believe about this topic. For example if you problem is not having enough money, I’d like you to list out everything you believe about money, your relationship with money. Everything, good and bad, fears, feelings, everything!
The next step is to highlight two of them which seem the most scary for you! These are your main limiting beliefs regarding your problem! You can use the same technique with other areas of your life as well!
Welcome Positive Affirmations!
Now list out the two beliefs on the left side of the paper and leave space next to them on the right side. Now reword them to positive, using the following questions to guide you:
- What do I want to believe that will help me achieve my goals?
- What is the positive direct opposite of my belief?
- If I learn to welcome this positive belief in my life, will my goals be most likely achieved?
Please write these two sentences on a post it and stick it somewhere you can see it every day!
Setting Motivating Goals!
A positive mindset also includes goals that are motivating for us! You need to clearly understand, what is it that you’d like to achieve in your life short and long term.
Use the following questions to help you find your goals:
- What 3 things do I have to achieve in 2015 in order to feel happy?
- Why are the fulfilment of these goals important for me?
- What will be my benefit if I reach them?
Stick your goals as well somewhere you can see them everyday!
