Find Enjoyment even in the Activities You Don’t Like!

Change your attitude so you can start to enjoy the activities you don’t like!

There are a bunch of things that I really had to force myself to do. I literally hated them. The best examples are “financial work” in my company, excel charts, administration and in my personal life completely different ones like jogging and ironing. Those are the things I just couldn’t do and if I tried it made me feel frustrated and upset. I could always find reasons why I shouldn’t do them. I guess you have a few things as well you don’t like to do, but it’s needed for your success. You have two options here. One: You hire a person to do it instead of you. Two: You do it for yourself. The most successful people always say that you got to do it first for yourself and learn how to enjoy it before you can hire someone to do it for you. 

1) Start the day with eating your frog!


Start with the things you don’t like to do. It makes you much more productive and gives you self-confidence after you are done with them. If you are finished, there is no more pressure for the rest of the day.  If this turns into a habit , you can handle even more difficult  situations. Solve them, finish them as fast as you can. After a while they won’t give you a negative feeling anymore. You are training yourself by doing them fresh in the morning to handle bigger challenges later on.

That way you can spend the rest of your day knowing you’ve done the most irritating tasks.

So what are the activities you don’t like to do? List them out!

2) Find the positive in things you don’t like!


Looking at the above image 2 years ago I would of seen only the negatives. “OMG that girl is crazy for jogging. It is very difficult and I can’t do it. You can get hurt. People who go for long jogs are running away from something.” etc. Today I learned to see how amazing it is to keep ourselves healthy. I can see how inspiring it is to jog especially in a nice forest, how much enjoyment it gives and even makes me want to go for a marathon.

Now write down a few positive effects of each of the activities you listed out:

Jogging:(personal life)

-makes me feel fresh afterwards

-gives ma a great cardio

-keeps me healthy, I can live longer

-people who are jogging can focus much better. etc..

Administration of financials:

-you need to see it for setting your goals.

-it makes you more productive

-it teaches you how to make more profit

-it can give you new ideas on how to reduce costs.

-it can help you see different strategies etc…

Find the positive sides of the activities you don’t like so you can start to enjoy them.

3) Don’t overdo it at the beginning!


This was a very big mistake of mine that I always wanted to do more than I could handle. That’s why you will have a negative feeling about the specific activity. I always started to jog 5 kilometres, because I thought everyone is capable running that much. It was too much and I didn’t want to do it again. Also I started with the most difficult excel charts in my business which I couldn’t even understand and the template I used wasn’t for the size of my company. It can ruin your whole activity if you overdo it. Your limits will get higher and you will feel when you can go for more difficult charts or for longer distances.

Do as much as you can handle until you feel motivated and you will enjoy it much more!
