Stop dreaming your life and start living your dreams.
I’ve recently read the following: From 1000 dreams, only 100 make it to become a specific plan, only 10 get to the „doing / getting things done” stage and only a 1 to 3 dreams get actually fulfilled. Why is that? We tend to believe that dreams are impossible to reach, therefore majority of the them are never said out loud, we don’t even dare to dream. And even if we do we get blocked by fears and beliefs on the way or listen to other’s opinions and simply stop.
It’s not that difficulty to plan and live a life we truly desire, it does take a lot of work and some time, but we are all capable of living our dreams.
So how to make a dream come true? Follow these 5 simple steps:
1) Commit to your dream!
Once you have an idea what your heart truly desires, commit to it, even if you are afraid or your dream seems irrational. Tell it to a friend or someone that you know will support and inspire you! If it is too big step for you, write it down and look at it every day for the upcoming days.
Writing your goals down and saying it out loud is a powerful way to commit to them!
2) Spend time every day loving yourself!
Motivation, self-love is like taking a shower. You do it every day. You need to plant some seeds and water it every day, so it grows. If you learn to practice self-love on a daily basis, you will feel more motivated and let go of some of your fears that could be stopping you from achieving your dreams.
Tip: Start your day by a short, 5 minute meditation before you get out of bed. Focus on your body and fill it up with light and love. Repeat: I truly love and trust myself.
3) Feel your dream!
Picture what it will be like to achieve your dream. What will you feel? How will your day look like? How will you and your life change? Practice visualizing details. As you do it more often you’ll be able to draw the future more into detail. Feel the excitement you will feel when you already have it.
Feel excitement, motivation and gratitude! You won’t be able to feel it all the time as things get tough sometimes, but keep on trying. Feed these positive emotions.
4) Take one step each day!
Take one tiny step each day towards your dream. Ask yourself: What can I do today to get closer to my goal? Is there anything else I can do? Is there something stopping me from taking the step?
Be patient, the goal is not to fulfill your dream in a day, sometimes it take a long time. Did you know that bamboo grows about 5 years under the ground until it sees sunlight and suddenly, in 5 weeks it might grow even 10-20 meters? Just plant your seeds and it will blossom eventually.
5) Celebrate milestones!
Make sure that you celebrate on the way. Not just huge milestones, even tiny things. You should get credit for dreaming, for writing it down, for taking steps etc. Remember you already took the biggest step by committing to your dream.
Tip: Come up with ways to reward yourself if you reach certain milestones!
