“Instead of thinking outside the box get rid of Your box!” Deepak Chopra
It fascinates me that we all long to be free, but still we all put ourselves into tiny little boxes. I started to realize that we spend our lives living in the box of society, the box of the “Hungarian way of thinking”, the box of other people’s thoughts, the box of my parents parenting model , the box of what is cool among my friends and so on.
I remember the day I was arriving to the office of the first company I worked for, dressed professionally, amazingly appropriate and my parents were so proud of me, but I just felt horrible. I was thinking to myself: Will I have to live the rest of my life like this?
So how do you know that you’re stuck?
It often happens that You just get used to living in a box, although you feel something is missing, but you don’t change because you don’t really know what you want. The turning point comes when you ask yourself: Do I really want what’s in the box or am I only limiting myself by thinking:
I can’t do anything else… its risky to do something different…leave something certain for uncertainty…because I never learned how to do something else…because my parents pushed me towards this direction…because I was born to an ex-socialist country… because I feel there’s little opportunity here…because most of the people fail…because there are already so many similar ideas to mine… and so on….
I can also see many people become complacent over time and they just accept to live in their boxes… This means your box is becoming your comfort zone and you are always just waiting for the next holiday to get off of work so you can go swimming, read a great book, travel somewhere, go horseback riding, practice yoga, climb a mountain, to go for a training with your dog or whatever you desire to do. And it starts all over again!
Are you uncomfortable when your daily routines are changed intentionally or unintentionally? If your answer is Yes you are definitely in a Box!
Sometimes you need to jump out of your box which is created by society, your parents, your friends or by yourself!!! Make sure you make the box disappear so you can never jump back again!

Start talking to people You don’t know randomly. Connect to people who have completely different interests than you do!

Read about a different religion or philosophy. This will give you broader perspective about the World.
I often play this game when I go running, I imagine funny jobs for myself. One day I’m a rock star, the other a doctor and I just imagine what my life would be like.
